Chapter 1: Introduction to Generative AI

Students will explore the history of generative AI. They will also consider a range of ways that generative AI can be used in a business context, and the risks and benefits that generative AI can pose.

Students will gain a functional understanding of the key concepts behind generative AI. They will consider the basic operations of large language models, and the key principles of prompt engineering.

 

Students will examine a range of business applications for generative AI through case studies and hands-on learning activities.

 

Students will consider the infrastructure that businesses need to implement a range of generative AI-powered tools. They will also examine the best practices for integrating and optimizing generative AI into a business’s existing workflows.

Students will consider the ways in which generative AI will impact a business’s ability to scale. They will explore data-driven growth tactics and in the use of generative AI in budget and demand forecasting.

Students will experiment with a range of generative AI content creation tactics. They will learn how to structure various kinds of AI-generated content and learn to evaluate and modify AI content generations.

Students will learn the foundational principles of customer experience (CX). They will explore a range of strategies for using generative AI tools to improve CX, such as chatbots and personalized touchpoints.

Students will explore the best practices for data management and privacy when working with generative AI tools. They will also explore potential ethical issues that can arise with generative AI tools, and best practices for ensuring their AI-assisted work is
transparent and explainable.
