WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

The PR Strategy & Communication course provides students with a modern

This program follows an open admission policy and does not require specific academic prerequisites. Applicants are expected to possess basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills sufficient to participate in course activities. Enrollment is finalized upon completion of the application process and payment of applicable fees.

Chapter 1: Marketing Fundamentals

Students will learn the basic concepts and principles of public relations and consider the importance of the field for businesses.

students will summarize the ethical and legal dimensions of PR and communications, including digital environments. They will also apply ethical principles to PR practices, including social media.

 

students will compare a wide range of media channels and outlets for effective communication and select platforms for strategic and effective PR programs.

 

students will define and identify members of publics and identify strategies that are likely effective with different types of publics.

students will describe and apply research methods and target audience analysis. Tey will aslo develop strategic public relations program plans.

students will summarize tactics and ways to measure them, evaluate effectiveness of PR programs and describe how PR program evaluation influences future program design.

students will list principles and tactics for crisis communications and describe the importance of issues management. They will also identify, assess, and plan for potential issues.

students will describe the fundamentals of reputation management and compare tactics for measuring and managing reputation both online and offline.
